Our Spring litter pick was a resounding success. 40-odd residents came together to clean up the village, collecting dozens of bags of waste from our verges and hedgerows. This made a visible difference to the appearance of the village.
To keep on top of the litter problem, we've decided to make this a bi-annual event - so please pop the date in your diary and come along to help if you can. We will prepare a number of suggested routes, with off-road sections for families, and pickers, gloves and bags will be provided. As in March, we'll start and finish at the Pavilion on the Rec.
Apart from the overwhelming sense of achievement, the best part of the pick is returning to base for tea and cake! If you can bake or buy and bring something to share, we'd be very grateful. Email us to let us know if you can.
We've divided the village up into sections and will allocate more pickers to the messiest parts of the village. Just turn up on the day and we'll send you off with a picker, gloves and bags. Lifts will be available to the further parts of the village, and we'll arrange collection of full bags to save people lugging them back to the Rec.
Look forward to seeing all who can make it!
