Harston Parish Council has applied for and been short-listed for a sizeable grant by Tesco to improve our Recreation Ground. The initial application's case was based on both further improvements to the recently re-furbished children's play park and improvements to adult sports facilities, including new football goal posts and outdoor table tennis tables.
Tesco is funding this venture through the government's 5p bag charge, which they are returning to the community. The next stage in the short-listing procedure is a competitive voting process. The voting will take place uniquely in Tesco stores in Cambridgeshire during the period 27th February to 6th March only. The following are the stores where you can vote:
- Histon Tesco Express
- Great Shelford Tesco Express
- Tesco Bar Hill
- Tesco Fulbourn
- Tesco Milton
To secure the funding it is vital we maximise the vote for our Harston Recreation Ground Improvements scheme in competition with others. A grant of this nature will give us the capability to make improvements to the Recreation Grounds that will benefit the whole community, both young and old. So two actions are necessary please:
- Visit one of the stores listed above, during the voting period, and vote for us.
- Please pass this information on to other local residents via email, social media or word of mouth and ask them to both vote and spread the word.
